ESCRACHES a militares genocidas de la última dictadura militar en Argentina (1976-1983)
Escrache a Raúl Sánchez Ruiz: La acción teatral servia como señuelo para distraer a la policía ubicada frente a la casa. Un personaje que representaba al médico militar Sánchez Ruiz le entregaba un bebé, robado a las detenidas en los campos de concentración, a un General del Ejército. En un determinado momento, aprovechando la confusión que la acción producía en la Policía, se comenzaron a arrojar por primera vez las "bombas de pintura" para señalar el frente de la casa del genocida.
Escrache a Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri En esta oportunidad Etcétera...represento un "Partido de fútbol" en donde los equipos contrincantes eran "Argentina vs. Argentina", simbolizando la guerra de las Malvinas y el ocultamiento de las muertes y desapariciones que habían sucedido en el país durante el Mundial de 1978. El Escrache se realizaba el mismo día que jugaba Argentina contra Inglaterra en el Mundial de Fútbol de 1998 . La obra finalizaba con un tiro penal pateado por un miembro de H.I.J.O.S. La pelota estaba rellena de pintura. En el arco (que era el vallado policial) se encontraba el personaje Militar intentando atajar.Los gritos de "¡gooool!" se mezclaron con los insultos, mientras volaban las bombas de pintura.

Escrache to Raúl Sánchez Ruiz
The performance worked as a lure to distract the police guard in front of the house.
A character doing militar physician Sanchez Ruiz handed over a baby, stolen from a prisioner of the concentration camps, to an Army General. At a certain moment, taking advantage of the confusion brought among the policemen, painting bombs were thrown to point out the front of the criminal´s house.
Escrache a Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri
In this case Etcétera... performed "A football match" in which the teams confronting were "Argentina against Argentina", symbolizing the Falklands or Malvinas War and the cover of thousands of deaths and disappearences that had taken place during the World Cup of 1978. The Escrache was carried out the same day of the Argentina-England football match, for the World Cup of 1998.
The play ended with a penalty kick, shot by a member of H.I.J.O.S. The ball was full with red painting. In the goal (that was the security hurdle) stood the militar character trying to catch the ball. The yells of "Goal!!!!!" combined with cursing, as the painting bombs went through the air.

Estamos Todos Detenidos. Esta acción inicia una serie de obras como crítica a las políticas de “seguridad” del gobierno de Eduardo Duhalde en contra de los grupos piqueteros, los vendedores y artistas ambulantes quienes podían ser detenidos bajo sospecha. La performance el verbo “detenerse” se hacía acción y la palabra se corporizaba creando una escultura social, donde los cuerpos detenidos de una veintena de personas en la vía pública, creaban una sensación de paranoia en los ocasionales transeúntes. En el volante se incluía un texto crítico a las políticas de seguridad y se presentaba con el formato de una ficha similar a las utilizadas por la policía al detener a una persona y labrar un acta de prontuario (“tocar el pianito” en la jerga popular porteña). La acción se realizaba entintando los dedos y obteniendo así las huellas del “detenido”. El texto comenzaba con la frase “Estamos todos detenidos -tiene derecho a permanecer callado. Todo lo que diga puede (y será usado en su contra)” y continuaba “Existe una distinción entre miedo y terror, el miedo es una alerta frente al peligro, permite una reacción, el terror en cambio es una conmoción que inmoviliza, paraliza a quien lo sufre”. La acción poética realizada en el centro de la ciudad logró un gran impacto, ya que durante aquellos días se producían violentos desalojos por parte de la policía en contra de los cientos de vendedores callejeros (“manteros”) que a partir de la crisis habían ocupado parques, plazas y calles peatonales.

Intervención Urbana. Acción realizada el año 2002 para visibilizar la criminalizacion de la protesta y la pobreza, la detención de personas por su portación de rostro o por su trabajo informal. Esta acción inicia una serie de obras como crítica a las políticas de “seguridad”, en contra de la instalación de figuras policiales como el merodeo y la detención “para averiguación de antecedentes”. A su vez y como consecuencia de los atentados en Nueva York, se comienza a tratar en la opinión pública la posibilidad de una “ley antiterrorista”.
Grupos de activistas circulaban por en centro de la ciudad. Sorpresivamente, se auto-detienen durante algunos minutos en diferentes puntos, provocando confusión tanto en los transeúntes como en los oficiales de policía que por casualidad allí se encontraban. Se repartía un volante que se asemejaba a los registros utilizados por la policía para tomar las huellas digitales de los detenidos. La gente era invitada a entintar sus dedos y auto-detenerse bajo la frase “Tiene derecho a permanecer callado. Todo lo que diga puede (y será) usado en su contra”.

El 16 de octubre de 1998 el dictador chileno Augusto Pinochet había sido arrestado en Londres por una orden de captura emitida por el juez español Baltasar Garzón, para someterlo a juicio por los crímenes contra ciudadanos españoles ocurridos durante la dictadura (finalmente el 2 de marzo de 2000, debido a su edad y estado de salud el Ministro del Interior británico resolvió liberarlo argumentando razones humanitarias).
Aquella tarde una multitud se congregó espontáneamente en el obelisco de Buenos Aires para celebrar junto a la comunidad chilena. Improvisamos la performance “Fucking Pinochet”, un ritual carnavalesco con máscaras y disfraces donde repartimos
panfletos impresos con stenciles de pequeñísimo formato servidos en bandejas de plata como un agasajo surrealista.
Durante la marcha-fiesta conocimos al peruano Fernando Coco Bedoya y la argentina Emei (Mercedes Idoyaga) artistas que habían pertenecido a C.A.Pa-Ta.Co (Colectivo de Arte Participativo, Tarifa Común grupo compuesto por ellos dos junto a Daniel Sanjurjo, José Luis Meirás, Luis Brand, Diego Fontanet y Roberto Amigo.) un colectivo que agitó las calles durante el retorno a la democracia. Se sumaron a nuestra pequeña columna surrealista y marchamos juntos. Las conversaciones con ellos nos ayudaron a comprender el funcionamiento de la escena de arte local y gracias a su relato histórico comprendimos cómo se articula el hegemónico sistema de arte y cómo se escribe la historia oficial.

El Ganso Al Poder:
Una semana antes de las elecciones presidenciales, la acción teatral fue realizada durante la marcha del día 24 de marzo. Cuestionando la legitimidad de las candidaturas y su funcionamiento, colocando en juego la ambigüedad de los símbolos de representación, como los estandartes y estereotipos clásicos de la política "bi partidista".
Dentro de un carro con forma de globo terráqueo transportábamos al líder: un Ganso
Para la obra se requirió la participación de un animal vivo, "futuro presidente de los argentinos" acompañado por un singular sequito: oscuros agentes de seguridad, tenebrosos ministros, dudosos asesores y una feroz hinchada portando bombos, pancartas y camisetas en apoyo al candidato ovíparo.

The Goose to the Power:
A week before the presidential elections, a dramatic action took place during the March 24th march. Questioning the legitimacy of the candidates and the way elections worked, casting doubts on the ambiguity of representational symbols, as the signs and common places of the "bipartisant" politics.
In a carriage with the shape of a globe, we carried the leader: a goose. For the play, it was needed the participation of a live animal, "the next president of argentinian people", followed by a particular retinue: horrid security agents, frightening ministers, uncertain assistants, and a fierceful gang of supporters holding drums and T-shirts supporting the oviparous candidate.

Bajo una cruda metáfora, este manifiesto era una poética hoja de contrato laboral en donde el empleador explicita las condiciones de esclavitud a las cuales el empleado será sometido. Las dinamitas eran entregadas en mano y encendidas por los manifestantes, estimulando el peligroso juego.
Llegando a la Plaza de Mayo se realizó un acto de la performance con el poema HAY HUELLAS con el planfleto en forma de huella diseminado por el suelo de la Plaza de Mayo, mientras Pablo recitaba el texto acompañado a coro por el resto del grupo.

A los Apoderados del Puñal Monetario…
Volante-Objeto ( Flyer) parte de la acción gráfica en el primer aniversario del “argentinazo”, una analogía al “juego del ahorcado”.
La obra rememoraba los métodos de ajusticiamiento usados contra las monarquías y los tiranos durante revoluciones de tiempos pasados. En el juego popular se busca identificar palabras completando con letras los espacios vacíos en una frase.
Para evitar subir al cadalso y perder el juego debemos arriesgar por turnos,
intentando descubrir una a una, las letras ausentes. En los afiches las palabras a descubrir eran los nombres de los políticos responsables de la crisis económica y también nombres de compañías multinacionales y sus productos.
El concepto del afiche, el volante-objeto y la instalación urbana, fue muy discutido dentro de las asambleas del grupo. Debatimos si la utilización de un elemento como la horca, podría llegar a ser interpretado como apología a la violencia. La mayoría del grupo pensaba que sí y por eso decidimos instalar docenas de sogas con nudos de horca en los árboles de la Plaza de Mayo los días 19 y 20 de diciembre de 2002.

Logo. El MUSEO DEL NEOEXTRACTIVISMO es un proyecto nómade que adopta diversos formatos expositivos según el espacio, institución y contexto al cual se desplaza. El proyecto surge a partir de una investigación llevada a cabo por el colectivo Etcétera acerca del modelo neo-extractivista y sus consecuencias para el medio ambiente, la salud social y los derechos humanos. El montaje en las salas PAyS del Parque de la Memoria es un prototipo, es decir, una de las posibles salas de este museo,
e incluye instalaciones, obras site specific, fotografía, video, objetos y mapas entre otros elementos. Durante la muestra el museo también presentará algunas performances e intervenciones en los alrededores del Parque de la Memoria.
¿POR QUÉ UN MUSEO?
La cultura y las artes se contemplan como una parte fundamental en la cadena productiva de este modelo económico. Por ello, varias de las compañías –locales o multinacionales– tienen centros de visitantes o museos para narrar su historia de una manera didáctica, artística o museográfica.
El Museo del Neoextractivismo (MNE) cumple la función inversa de estos centros: narrar a través de las obras, objetos e instalaciones el otro lado de la historia: las razones y consecuencias detrás de este modelo. Es una plataforma encargada de ilustrar cómo se ha ido transformado el territorio, quiénes están detrás y quiénes están resistiéndolo.
El MNE cuenta con experimentos educativos, publicaciones y una colección de obras de artistas locales e internacionales que han venido investigando la explotación de la mega minería, la deforestación, el uso de pesticidas y agrotóxicos, entre otras actividades extractivas.
Las intervenciones del MNE invitan al público a conocer y aportar su conocimiento acerca del modelo extractivo y sus consecuencias por medio de espacios lúdicos creados para imaginar otros modelos de desarrollo basados en la defensa de los derechos humanos y la naturaleza.El museo está estructurado en cuatro ejes conceptuales: Extractivismo Histórico, Neextractivismo, Resistencias e Imaginación Social. Estos cuatro conceptos son desarrollados en las cuatro áreas que estructuran el Museo del Neoextractivismo: colección, educación, museografía y publicaciones. El MNE está diseñado como un dispositivo nómade que permite desplazarse y adaptarse a diferentes contextos, ya sean espacios propiamente expositivos (centros culturales, museos, espacios de arte) o sitios donde se encuentran comunidades afectadas, ya sean zonas mineras, rurales o agrarias.
En cada presentación el MNE exhibe parte de su colección (en permanente construcción) en diferentes formatos dependiendo del espacio elegido o designado.El museo cuenta en su colección con obras y proyectos de artistas y colectivos de distintos países. La situación que se vivía llevó a los manifestantes a buscar nuevas y variadas estrategias de denuncia. Una de ellas fue llamada “Mierdazo”. Consistía en invitar a toda la sociedad disconforme con la situación social, política y económica a
crear, guardar, llevar y arrojar su propio excremento o el de un amigo, familiar o mascota, a las puertas del Congreso Nacional en el mismo momento en que adentro los diputados debatían el atrasado presupuesto económico para el año en curso.
Bajo la consigna “No se suspende por lluvia, ni por diarrea”se realizó una instalación y una performance en la que un actor disfrazado de oveja, sentado en un inodoro ubicado sobre una alfombra roja, defecaba en público. Luego, fue imitado por otros manifestantes que sintieron la necesidad. La catarsis que provocó la escatológica acción desbordó todo lo previsto: algunas personas comenzaron a quitarse sus ropas, y otras, a orinar y defecar por doquier. Repentinamente, miembros de la policía uniformados y de civil comenzaron a perseguir y detener a los manifestantes. Ante esta desopilante escena, optamos por una fuga fugaz al ritmo de las sirenas de los móviles policiales. Otros, optaron por quitarse sus ropas y quedar al desnudo frente al gobierno.
La repercusión mediática permitió que el concepto de la acción se expandiera hacia otros puntos del país: en la ciudad de Mar del Plata, por ejemplo, camiones llenos de abono fueron descargados frente a los bancos por los ahorristas.

After the social uprising of December 20th 2001, there was a large growth in the protesting involvement and in the claims of the different social groups affected by the crisis (demostrations against banks organized by people who lost their savings; rutes blocking and demonstrations of Piqueteros; statal employees protested against majors´ houses, neighbourhood´s assambleys turned up and so on.)
The situation led demonstrators to find new and different ways of protesting.
The proposal of a new way of claiming called The Big Shit, consisted in inviting all the disgusted society to keep , take and throw their own shit or shit belonging to a friend, relative or pet, over the National Congress´ gates, at the same time the diputees debated the national budget for the whole year. Under the instruction: "It´s not going to be cancelled in case of rain or diarrhea" a set and a performance were put on; an actor disguised as a sheep, sitting on a toilet on a red carpet, shitted at the audience´s sight. Then, he was followed by other demonstrators who felt the necessity. Others chose to take off their clothes and stood naked in front of the government. The media coverage allowed the concept of the action to spread out around other parts of the country. For instance, in Mar del Plata, trucks full of shit were unloaded in front of the banks by the people who lost their savings.

En junio del año 2003 durante un corte de ruta en el Puente Pueyrredón, acceso sur a la Capital de Buenos Aires, en reclamo por la muerte de los dos jóvenes piqueteros asesinados por la policía bonaerense un año antes (Darío Santillán y Maximiliano Kosteky) llevamos a cabo “¡Aguante Miguelito!” como parte de una serie de experiencias que recuperan objetos utilizados para la resistencia urbana y la autodefensa popular durante protestas y movilizaciones: gomeras, piedras, neumáticos, etc. El panfleto- poema tenía dos caras, de un lado estaba el poema “aguante miguelito, el pueblo te necesita” y del lado opuesto la marca del neumático atravesado con clavos “miguelito”, que se distribuían a los manifestantes y podían ser utilizados en caso de ser necesario.

En Abril de 2008, Etcétera participó en la exhibición “Etcétera ∞” curada por el colectivo parisino Claire Fontaine en la galería Frank Elbas en París. La invitación del colectivo fue para realizar una versión corta de la exhibición antológica, en la que se exhibieron , afiches, videos, una nueva serie de Gente Armada que luego fue adquirida por la Colección Frac Grenoble y una serie de artefactos erroristas. El “Pasaporte Errorista” es parte de esta serie de piezas prototipos erroristas que se exhibieron en la exposición.

Las reglas del juego. Durante el festival cultural llamado “Arte y Confección” realizado en apoyo a Brukman, una fábrica textil recuperada por los trabajadores durante la crisis del año 2001. Utilizando una analogía entre las reglas del juego de ajedrez
y las reglas sociales, Etcétera... instaló un gran tablero y un peón gigante que fueron dibujados en el suelo con combustible y azúcar. Luego, fueron encendidos mientras uno de los obreros de Brukman leía un manifiesto poético que contenía las reglas del movimiento del peón en el juego de ajedrez (única pieza que puede coronar y convertirse en rey) pero en primera persona.
Las reglas del juego. Durante el festival cultural llamado “Arte y Confección” realizado en apoyo a Brukman, una fábrica textil recuperada por los trabajadores durante la crisis del año 2001. Utilizando una analogía entre las reglas del juego de ajedrez
y las reglas sociales, Etcétera... instaló un gran tablero y un peón gigante que fueron dibujados en el suelo con combustible y azúcar. Luego, fueron encendidos mientras uno de los obreros de Brukman leía un manifiesto poético que contenía las reglas del movimiento del peón en el juego de ajedrez (única pieza que puede coronar y convertirse en rey) pero en primera persona.

Based on "Chile Yesterday Today" a propaganda book which was published in Chile in 1975 by the National Editorial Gabriela Mistral of the Chilean military government of Augusto Pinochet. Taking that book as an exemplum to signalize how graphic, design, pictures and symbols were/are used to impose and spread the contemporary fascist ideology, and how its operates inside the social subjectivity within the constructions of stereotypes images which represents the antagonism Communism vs.Capitalism.
